Simple and Easy Marinara Sauce
2 Tbsp olive oil
1 chopped medium onion
4 cloves finely chopped garlic
1/4 cup red wine
2 cans crushed tomatoes (look for no salt)
(28 oz each)
2 Tbsp agave nectar
1 tsp sea salt
1/4 tsp ground black pepper
1 (3oz) grated Parmesan cheese
Step 1
Heat oil in large saucepan over medium-high heat. Add onion; cook, stirring frequently for 5 to 6 minutes or until translucent.
Step 2
Add garlic and tomato paste; cook, stirring constantly for 2 to 3 minutes. Do not let burn.
Step 3
Add wine; cook, stirring constantly for 2 or 3 minutes
Step 4
Add tomatoes, agave, salt and pepper. Bring to boil, stirring frequently. Reduce heat to low; gently boil, stirring occasionally for 3 minutes.
Step 5
Add cheese and stir occasionally for 1 hour.
